DJ Philip Love, the son of
a Jamaican calypso singer, proudly traces his roots to St.
Ann’s Parish in Jamaica, the birthplace of reggae legends Bob
Marley, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear (Winston Rodney), Shaggy
and Black Nationalist Marcus Garvey. DJ Philip Love is a
graduate of Georgetown University in Washington D.C. where he
first began as a student DJ at WROX, the college station.
Philip
Love has worked as a writer for a Connecticut-based West
Indian-American paper covering Caribbean music and arts, and
produced a TV travel series, “Journey to Jamaica”. As a
soundmixer, his Off-Broadway production credits include August
Wilson’s “Seven Guitars”, “You Should be so Lucky”, “Clothes
for a Summer Hotel”, “Cambodia Agonistes”, and “The
Nutcracker Ballet”. Island Bounce originates at WMRD
and WLIS in Radio Network (HOB.com) as a Reggae Channel |
