Middlesex Moments

The President of Middlesex Community College interviews College Personnel, Professors, and Community Leaders on a wide variety of topics of interest to all.
Dr. Anna M. Wasescha is the President of Middlesex Community College.
Prior to joining Middlesex, Dr. Wasescha worked in higher education at
several colleges in Minnesota, including Minnesota State Community and
Technical College, Fergus Falls; Walden University, Minneapolis; Concordia
University, Saint Paul; University of Minnesota, Minneapolis; and Hamline
University, Saint Paul. She served as Provost from 2007-2011 and then in
2011 she was also the Special Assistant to the President at Minnesota State
Community and Technical College at Fergus Falls. Her responsibilities
included all academic programs, student life, campus buildings and grounds,
community engagement and new program development.
In 1996, Dr. Wasescha founded a nonprofit organization named Farm in the
City, a garden-based educational and cultural program for children and
youth, supplemental English language program for new Americans, a market
garden project with deaf Hmong gardeners and a restorative labyrinth garden
located on the campus of Concordia University. Across the eleven-year
lifetime of Farm in the City, she raised over one million dollars from
individuals, corporations and foundations to support this initiative.
Dr. Wasescha received her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration,
her master’s degree in higher education and her baccalaureate degree in
English literature from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
